As well as being one of the Hunter's finest jazz vocalists, Julie Wilson is also much in demand as a vocal teacher.
Julie has studied at the Newcastle Conservatorium of Music with Francine Bell, trained in the Estill method of singing with Peter Egan, studied privately with Jenny Barnes and is a member of the Australian National Association of Teachers of Singing. She teaches jazz, contemporary, country and musical theatre styles.
Each year Julie hosts a student vocal concert, giving her students the opportunity to perform live with a some of Newcastle's finest musicians. This has led to many of her students performing regularly at local venues.
Julie has successfully coached students for solo performances in Starstruck. Some students have gone on to release CDs of original music, and even to win the opportunity to perform in Nashville.
